International - Accommodation

Homestay accommodation is arranged for each international student. This means living with a host family in Kerikeri. The family will provide you with a single room with a bed and furniture for personal items and study. You will receive 3 meals a day and be looked after as another family member. You may have new brothers and sisters to help you. Becoming a part a New Zealand family will immerse you in the New Zealand culture and make your stay more rewarding. You will meet other New Zealanders and improve your English.

Homestay Family

Our homestay families are carefully selected and many will have hosted other international students before you. Families apply to the school to offer homestay accommodation. All members in the family over 18 years old are police vetted. The Homestay Manager visits the family, interviews them, and checks that the family, home and student's room are all OK. Once a family is on the homestay list, the Homestay Manager matches up student requests with families. Things that are considered include: siblings in the family, distance from school, pets, transport, whether people smoke and the student's and family's interests and sports. Families and students are given each others' addresses so that they can make contact before arriving in New Zealand.

The homestay family, Homestay Manager and Director of International Students will meet you at Kerikeri airport on arrival. You will then be welcomed into your new family's home.
