As part of their learning about marine environments around Northland, Year 12 Geography students visited the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to experience a pristine marine environment, and they were able to snorkel, swim, paddle board and kayak.

Learning continues back at school with the focus shifting to the impact of Caulerpa seaweed in the Bay of Islands marine environment. Students were fortunate to have Ambassadors from the Conquer Caulerpa Trust speak to them about their role in educating the public and local schools about the threat this invasive seaweed poses.
