Local Enrolment

Kerikeri High School's enrolment scheme is prescribed by the Education Act 1989 and provides for automatic entry to in-zone applicants i.e. those living in the Kerikeri High School geographic zone.
If there are remaining places available in a year level they are allocated as required by legislation in an annual ballot to out-of-zone applicants according to a schedule of priorities (see below).

In-Zone Entry

Automatic in-zone entry is confirmed by completing the following procedure:

1. Complete an in-zone enrolment form, preferably using our in-zone online enrolment form.
   Paper forms are available at Reception.
2. Purchase school uniform and stationery as required.

Out-of-Zone Entry 2025

Out of zone applications for the 2025 school year have closed.

Out-of-Zone Place Allocation Procedures

The allocation of available places for out-of-zone applicants is determined by the following nationally legislated priorities:

1. First priority is not applicable because the School does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary of Education.
2. Second priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
3. Third priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
4. Fourth priority will be given to applicants who are children of board employees.
5. Fifth priority will be given to applicants who are children of a former student.
6. Sixth priority will be given to all remaining applicants.

Where there are more applicants than available places, the places will be allocated by ballot.
